Paw shape for pet-friendly suite

Traveling with a Four-Legged Family Member

We know many of our guests have pets as part of their family. The Grand Hacienda Estate welcomes one adult dog (over one year of age) up to 50 lbs for an additional fee of $75 per stay in the Georgia O'Keeffe suite. For all of our guests enjoyment and upon your booking, you agree to the following restrictions and guidelines.

✦ We accept dogs weighing under 50 lbs who are at least two years old. Sorry, we cannot host puppies under one year of age or cats (due to allergies). Pets must be potty-trained and well-behaved, just like our human adult guests!

✦ There is an additional fee for hosting your dog; this is for pet amenities and extra deep cleaning we must perform to ensure the next guests, some of whom have allergies, are not impacted. The fee must be paid prior to your arrival via reservation or in response to an invoice.

✦ We want your pet's stay to be a wonderful, so we are happy to lend you a Revol dog crate (inspired by baby industry quality standards) and an orthopedic dog crate pad.

✦ There are endless places for you and your dog to walk on our 20 acre property. No need to pack water and food bowls –– we've got you covered!

✦ By law, pets must be kept on a leash when outside.

✦ For everyone's enjoyment, please follow these important rules:

  • Pets are not allowed to be left behind if you leave the property; they must travel with you!

  • Crate your pet if you leave him/her alone in the suite while you are enjoying the property.

  • Pets are not allowed on the furniture or the bed. It is helpful to bring something (pet bed, blanket, etc.) on which you know your pet will be comfortable sleeping. Many pets are used to being allowed on furniture and beds at their own home, but this is not allowed in the suite. We will supply a kennel and pet pad for your pet's comfort.

  • Groom your dog prior to their stay, particularly if it is a breed prone to shedding. Pet hair can be difficult to remove.

  • Pets are not allowed in the common areas, including The Great Room, on the shared portal (patios), in the shared kitchen, in the plaza or on the rooftop deck.

  • Pets are not allow in the hot tub or in the shower. Several local groomers offer pet bathing services and we would be happy to help you coordinate an appointment with one!

  • Pets must not be allowed to bark excessively or roam outside.

  • Pets should be taken to the grassy area behind the parking lot for breaks. Pets are NOT allowed in the fenced area behind the O'Keeffe suite –– this is a garden!

  • Clean up after your dog inside and out. Please walk through the yard to ensure you didn’t miss anything. (The cleaning crew charges extra fees to clean up after your pet, and we will have to pass those costs on to you.)

  • Do your best to clean and dry your dog after a walk. We will supply you with a towel for this purpose.

✦ Ensure that your dog’s medications and immunizations are up-to-date prior to your stay, especially flea treatment.

✦ Before you leave, please do a walk-through inside and out. Check all the yards to make sure there are no messes left outside. Clean up any pet hair inside. This extra walk-through often helps us both avoid extra fees.

✦ Your security deposit will be used to cover any damages caused by your pet –– chewing, scratching, digging, soiled linens, unreported house training accidents and cleaning up any messes (including dog hair on furniture) inside or outside.

✦ Our pet fee only includes the deep cleaning cost, and we rely on the pet owner to clean up after your pet –– leaving no trace.
