Our Stunning Location

The Grand Hacienda is located at 5 Los Ojos Drive, Abiquiú Lake, in northern New Mexico, situated north of Santa Fe and Los Alamos, and east of Taos. Perched on a mesa top overlooking beautiful Abiquiú Lake, directly across the lake from Ghost Ranch and the red cliffs of Abiquiú, the Hacienda views are spectacular.  

 

Out here, you won’t find crowds, tour buses bound for Georgia O'Keeffe landmarks, traffic, streetlights, or roadside distractions. What you will find is beauty in its purest form...vast skies, profound stillness, and a rare absence of both noise and light pollution.

We share this extraordinary landscape with golden eagles, owls, ravens, prairie dogs, and even the occasional free-roaming horse. The land carries deep history as well. It was once home to Tewa Puebloan ancestors and Navajo communities, and traces of their presence remain. As you explore the property, you may come across fragments of the past - arrowheads or stone tools - quiet reminders of those who walked this land long before us.

Directions and gate codes are emailed to registered guests about four weeks before their stay, along with information on local activities and events.

 

We are located about 20 minutes from the village of Abiquiú and roughly an hour from both Santa Fe and Taos. Centrally positioned, The Grand Hacienda offers convenient access to many of northern New Mexico’s most iconic destinations, including Ghost Ranch, Plaza Blanca, Monastery of Christ in the Desert, and Georgia O'Keeffe Home and Studio.
