November in Abiquiú is a season of golden cottonwoods, crisp desert air, and cozy gatherings by the fire. At The Grand Hacienda, we celebrate this magical month with experiences that blend food, art, and the rich culture of Northern New Mexico. Here’s what’s happening both at the Hacienda and around the area.


THE GRAND HACIENDA HIGHLIGHTS

November 15 – Georgia O’Keeffe’s Birthday Dinner

Honor O’Keeffe’s birthday with an intimate dining experience inspired by her own recipes and food philosophy. A menu of simple, seasonal high-desert flavors will be served. Reservations required | Additional cost

November 28 – Thanksgiving at The Hacienda

As a registered guest, join us for a Southwest-inspired Thanksgiving feast. Classic holiday favorites meet regional flavors, and of course, there’s plenty of pie. Reservations required | Additional cost


AREA EVENTS

November 1 – Daylight Savings Time Ends

A gentle reminder to “fall back.”

November 1–2 – Día de los Muertos on the Santa Fe Plaza

Celebrate life and remembrance at this free, vibrant community event filled with marigolds, masks, decorative skulls, live music, and delicious food.

November 8 – Native Bound Unbound, Abiquiu Parish Hall Digital archive project that aims to document and connect every recorded instance of Indigenous slavery across the Americas.

November 8 – 1st Annual Abiquiu Arts, Crafts & Food Fair – Joe Ferran Gym in Abiquiu Over 30 local vendors – get all your holiday items, plus desserts and fun.

 

November 9 – Que vivan las acequias! Abiquiu Library and Cultural Center Afternoon of musical and poetic offerings with a collection of songs and poems that have been shared with New Mexico acequia communities since 2009.

November 11 – Veterans’ Day

With gratitude, we honor all who have served.

November 28 – Holiday Tree Lighting on the Santa Fe Plaza

Experience the magic of the Plaza as the lights are switched on around 6:15–6:30 p.m. Enjoy music, sweet treats, and a visit from Santa.


November 29 – Fiesta de Santo Tomás - Abiquiú Village

A powerful cultural celebration honoring Abiquiú’s patron saint. The day features a procession, prayers, and traditional dances rooted in genízaro heritage.
