Afternoon Tea: Art of Tea Experience

We believe the celebratory act of enjoying tea leads to powerful health and wellness benefits on a physical, spiritual, mental and emotional level. Research shows that the ingredients in a great cup of tea can lift mood, improve focus, and taste delicious.

A blend of hot tea, tasty treats, and  conversation, afternoon tea parties have had a long tradition with many social and health benefits.

Our Afternoon Tea starts with intention, where you can activate your “tea mind” –– a term we learned from the Art of Tea founder and CEO, Steve Schwartz. As soon as we came in contact with Art of Tea, we knew they were the source of great, organic teas for The Grand Hacienda. A Master Tea Blender and herbal pharmacist who studied at the Ayurveda Institute in Santa Fe, Schwartz has a mission to impact as many lives as possible through tea. He sources the top 1-2% of all teas directly from growers around the world.

Your Grand Hacienda Afternoon Tea Experience begins in The Great Room or outside on the Lakeside Portal (if weather permits). While you enjoy the spectacular views of the high desert, Abiquiú Lake and Ghost Ranch, sip a beautiful selection of teas from Art of Tea. Taste sweet and savory treats prepared by our culinary team, and discover where the conversation takes you.

At the end of the tea experience, join us for a discussion on the architecture of The Grand Hacienda, its eco and green elements, and the history of the land.

Afternoon Teas are scheduled throughout the season and upon request, with a two-week advance reservation/notice. ($55 per person, plus a 20% service charge and tax)
