Our Stunning Location

The Grand Hacienda is located at 5 Los Ojos Drive, Abiquiu Lake, New Mexico.  We are in northern New Mexico, situation north of Santa Fe and Los Alamos, and east of Taos.  Located about four miles off the main road, The Hacienda sits on 40 acres in a gated community with lake access. Perched on a mesa top overlooking beautiful Abiquiu Lake, directly across the lake from Ghostranch and the red cliffs of Abiquiu, the Hacienda views are spectacular.  

 

Natural social isolation – you won't find crowds, Georgia O'Keeffe tour busses, traffic, street lights, or pink flamingos out here...you will just have beauty, stillness, quiet, and an absence of both noise and light pollution. We share this special land with eagles, owls, ravens, prairie dogs...and the occasional free-roaming cow or horse. This land was once occupied by Tewa Puebloan ancestors and Navajo Native Americans.  Evidence of their lives here still exists, and you may find arrowheads or scrapers as you hike our 40 acres.
 

Our guests are welcome to enjoy our two private lakefront lots at the water's edge for swimming, floating, fishing or kayaking (bring your own kayak or reach out to us about rentals). We have a private rocky beach, perfect for water activities, art or meditation.

Directions and gate codes are emailed to registered guests about four weeks before their stay, along with information on local activities and events.

 

We are about 20 minutes outside of the village of Abiquiú and about an hour from Santa Fe or Taos.
